Coronation Physiotherapy has served northwest Edmonton since 1987. The practice is now led by an experienced team of registered physiotherapists and therapists, delivering one-on-one, assessment-led care.
The clinic's story
Established practice, current team
Coronation Physiotherapy was incorporated in 1987 and has operated from the same northwest Edmonton location ever since. Over that time it grew from a focused physiotherapy practice into one of the city's more established rehabilitation centres, built on a consistent standard of one-on-one, assessment-led care.
In September 2025 the clinic was acquired by a new ownership group, and it is now led day to day by registered physiotherapists with their own caseloads. The building, the location and the standard carried over. The team is the team you will meet below.
The clinic sits between two things that rarely sit together: institutional credibility and genuinely individual care. It is not a corporate chain, and it is not a generalist walk-in. Most people who come here have already tried physiotherapy somewhere else and want a clearer answer.

Gugan Dakshnamurthy
Co-owner, Registered Physiotherapist
Gugan holds a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University and has more than 14 years of clinical experience treating musculoskeletal conditions. His interests include the neck, shoulder and knee, and he is certified in assessing and treating BPPV. He combines manual therapy, shockwave, therapeutic exercise and dry needling.

Muthuukaruppan Muthiah
Co-owner, Registered Physiotherapist
Known to patients as Muthu, he brings more than 24 years of clinical practice and is the most senior physiotherapist on our team. His depth of experience spans a wide range of musculoskeletal and rehabilitation conditions.

Karen combines massage, osteopathy and yoga to relieve pain, reduce stress and restore balance. With 25 years as a paramedic, she brings care, compassion and real-world experience to every client.

Nastaran oversees daily operations and ensures a smooth experience for clients and staff. With an MBA from the University of Alberta and a background as a physiotherapist, she brings both business insight and clinical understanding.
Kaye Monteverde
Physiotherapist Assistant
Kaye supports patients through rehabilitation with individualised exercise programmes and therapeutic interventions carried out alongside the physiotherapist. A graduate of the Interdisciplinary Therapy Assistant diploma programme at NorQuest College, she brings a strength-based, patient-centred approach focused on helping people regain confidence and independence.

The clinic is owner operated by registered physiotherapists. Gugan Dakshnamurthy and Muthuukaruppan Muthiah are co-owners and both treat patients themselves. The practice was acquired in September 2025.

Will I always see a registered physiotherapist?
Your assessment and treatment are delivered by a registered physiotherapist. Physiotherapist assistants support the exercise and rehabilitation side of your programme, working alongside your physiotherapist rather than in place of them.
